Let’s face it. You are on vacation, BUT you are on vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth. While you’d love to stay in your comfy bed with the sheets pulled over your head; you know you have to get up. Mickey waffles are a callin’, there are rides waiting to be conquered, and Hidden Mickeys waiting to be discovered.
Don’t worry about those missing ZzZzZs! Your early Mickey call time will be more than worth it. There IS Disney magic to be found even for the early birds.
Here are my top 10 must dos for the Walt Disney World early riser:
Extra Morning Hours – one of the many perks of staying at a Disney resort is the Extra Magic Hours. If you are up, head to the park and take advantage! These are hours the park opens early JUST for guests staying onsite at a Disney resort. Check with the front desk of your resort, or your travel agent, to find out what these times are.
Pre Park Opening Breakfast – ever wanted to get some amazing shots at some of your favorite Disney backdrops? Here’s how – book a breakfast time at an IN PARK restaurant before the park opens. You’ll be able to enter the park before it opens publicly and snag a coveted shot with zero crowds.
Rope Drop – this is a Disney MUST DO for everyone! Did you know at the Magic Kingdom they do a park opening performance every morning? Get to the park at least 30 minutes before opening to ensure you see it.
Coffee At The Resort – before you start your busy day at the parks; take some time for YOU! Go grab a cup of coffee in the main building of your resort and take a leisurely stroll around your resort as you head back to the room. Take in the scenery, listen to the birds, and enjoy your few minutes of blissful silence.
Tee Time – got a golfer in the family? Disney boasts an impressive (4) courses on site at both Grand Floridian Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort. Early tee times are available to book by calling 407-WDW-GOLF or asking your travel agent to schedule you a tee time.
Spa Treatment – need a little pampering before your big day at the park? Head over to one of the many spas onsite at a Disney resort. Call 407-WDW-SPAS or your travel agent for more information.
Resort Breakfast – there are many hidden gems around the Disney resorts that offer a delicious breakfast. Before you head out to the parks try the table service restaurant at your resort!
New Early Morning Magic – check out Disney’s newest limited entry morning time offering! Head in to Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios for some Magic Morning fun up to an hour and a half before the park opens to the public. For an additional fee, you can gain front-of-the-line access to some of your favorite attractions PLUS breakfast. More information is available by calling 407-827-7350 or asking your travel agent.
Less Wait Times For Rides – while there are some early risers at Disney World; there are just as many who do sleep in. Due to this, you can normally find much lower wait times for rides first things in the morning. TIP! Couldn’t decide what to FastPass? That must do ride you didn’t FP – go straight to it when the park opens for lower lines.
Schedule A Wake Up Call – this one is fun for all ages. The night before, call the front desk and ask them to arrange a wake up call for you. The voice you’ll hear on the other line, the next morning, is sure to bring a smile to your face.
What are your favorite early morning things to do at Walt Disney World? Is your’s missing from my list? Let us know!
