As you may have heard – the current offerings for supervised child care at Walt Disney World are closing up shop on August 1, 2018. We have been quite curious as to what was going to take its place (if anything). And, lo and behind, the news came today of an exciting new program that is going to be piloted at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
Starting April 13, 2018, Disney’s Contemporary Resort will introduce a brand-new, playful and immersive Pixar character experience as part of a pilot program. The program will be called “Pixar Play Zone”. Toilet trained children between the ages of 4 and 12 will be able to experience this nightly program.
The Walt Disney Travel Company has released the following teaser to promote the new program:
“It all kicks off with Space Ranger Training where kids will learn how to identify and battle enemies of the Star Command. Then, Woody and Jessie will show them the ropes of the Wild West during Woody’s Roundup. During the Piston Cup Challenge, youngsters will be able to build a race car, then race it on the Radiator Springs Racetrack. And finally, kids will learn some sweet dance moves during the Incredible Dance Party with Mr. Incredible and Mrs. Incredible. What else is on the menu? Games, dinner and dessert, of course!”
Let’s get out all the details:
- The program will run nightly at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- All ages 4-12
- Children must be potty trained
- Pricing is $65/per child + tax
- Registration begins at 5:00 PM
- Program runs from 6:00 – 10:30 PM
- A parent must physically be present to drop off and pick up their child.
The experience will begin at the welcome desk, a stop at the “Monsters, Inc.” handwashing station, then Boo’s Closet Door, where youngsters will be able to store any belongings before taking a couple of steps into an action-packed evening of Pixar fun.
